Livestock and Poultry
Since vitamins are one of the most important feed additives and supplementations in livestock and poultry, Magma company offers the broad range of the following vitamins and provides them in great extent.
● Vitamin A
The usage of this vitamin provides considerable benefits as; growth rate in poultry, boosting immune system and resistance against diseases/infection, rebuilding, protection of covering tissues and respiratory tubes (skin and mucous layer of digestive system and its recovery).
Vitamin A deficiency causes nutritional diseases like Roup which appears in the form of infected swollen eyes, a watery discharge from both eyes and nose, Conjunctivitis and severe inflammatory discharge. In a worse case, bruises and hardening of outer skin cells of digestive mucous and respiratory system will occur as well.
● Vitamin D3
It plays a vital role in the faster absorption of calcium and phosphorus in the intestine (which is necessary for normal growth, strengthening bones and eggshell formation).
Vitamin D3 deficiency can cause Rickets among poultry. In this condition, poultry lays soft eggs and their laying may decrease as well. Also, poultry’s legs are weakened and as a result their sitting position looks like penguins. They may also suffer from soft and flexible beak, claws and ribs.
● Vitamin E
It is one of the important antioxidant compounds which protects the unsaturated fats caused by oxidant activity in poultry’s body and improves their nervous system. It has also immunity enhancing function.
Deficiency of this vitamin leads to Encephalomalacia (crazy chick disease) and a growing willingness to catch diseases in younger chickens and death of muscle cells in adult and older ones.
● Vitamin K
It is considered essential for synthesis of prothrombin. Consequently, it plays a key role in blood clotting and has a protective effect against perosis disease.
Vitamin K deficiency results in increasing the blood spots in the eggs, legs and breast bleeding and lack of proper blood coagulation in poultry.
● Vitamin C
Vitamin C acts as anti-stress and a stimulant that enhances immune system. It also increases the resistance against the infections.
● Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)
It is necessary for carbohydrate metabolism.
Deficiency of this vitamin can appear as anorexia, loss of weight, ruffled feathers, dropping of wings and paralysis of muscles.
● Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
This vitamin is considered as part of the enzyme system and that’s why it plays a vital role in metabolism.
The deficiency of this vitamin causes diarrhea and curled toe paralysis in birds between the first and second week of age.
● Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin)
It is effective in nucleic acid synthesis, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, as well as methyl synthesis. This vitamin is found in all foods of animal origin.
Its deficiency causes slowed growth, poor feed utilization and reduced hatchability in poultry.
● Cholin Chlorid 60%
Choline is known as a water-soluble member of vitamin B-complex group. This vitamin is an essential element in the overall growth and health of the poultry as well as an accelerator in the growth of most of the animals.
The deficiency of this vitamin raises a serious problem for growing chickens and can cause stunted growth, slipped tendon and a twisting and bowing of the metatarsal. The choline requirement in growing chicks decreases with age. As a matter of fact, deficiency doesn’t occur at an age over eight weeks.
